Iseult & James | A Beautiful Micro Wedding in Gougane Barra

Some weddings stay with you for a long time, not because they are big or elaborate, but because they feel deeply personal. Iseult and James’ micro wedding was exactly that.

Living just a short distance from me, their day felt wonderfully local and relaxed from the very beginning. With only their closest people around them, the focus was entirely on what mattered most. The two of them, their connection, and the place they chose to say their vows.

A Ceremony in One of Ireland’s Most Beautiful Settings

The ceremony took place in Gougane Barra, a location that never fails to take your breath away. Surrounded by mountains, forests and still water, it feels quiet, peaceful and completely removed from the rush of everyday life.

With the calm atmosphere of Gougane Barra all around them, the ceremony felt intimate and meaningful. There was no distraction, no pressure, just two people sharing a moment in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Portraits Along the Stream

After the ceremony, we stayed close by for their photo shoot, taking advantage of the natural surroundings that make Gougane Barra so special. We wandered along a gentle stream, with soft light filtering through the trees and the sound of water flowing nearby.

There was no rushing and no posing for the sake of it. Just time to walk, talk, laugh, and take everything in. These are the moments that suit micro weddings perfectly. Unhurried, natural and full of genuine emotion.

A Relaxed Celebration at Home

From there, the day moved to a small and relaxed reception at Iseult’s mother’s home. It was the perfect way to finish the day. Warm, personal and filled with the people who mean the most.

Micro weddings allow space for these kinds of moments. Time to actually talk to everyone, to enjoy being together, and to celebrate without a strict schedule. It felt more like a gathering of family and friends than a formal event, and that made it incredibly special.

A Day That Was Completely Theirs

Iseult and James’ wedding was a reminder that weddings do not need to be big to be meaningful. Thoughtfully planned, beautifully located, and centred on what truly matters, their day was calm, joyful and full of heart.

Thank you both for trusting me to capture it.
