I grew up in rural Clare.

Friends outside of home were hard to come by, and I spent more of my early childhood than I’d like to admit feeling like I didn’t quite belong anywhere beyond my own front door. But inside that door I was completely loved, and I think that’s where I learned what it actually feels like to be part of something.

And then I found weddings.

Every wedding day I walk into, I am surrounded by love. I am trusted completely, relied upon, part of the family. I get texts days after from couples telling me their guests were asking about me. Who was that man, how did he make the whole day feel so easy?

I have been doing this for 17 years. I have stood beside hundreds of couples on the most important day of their lives. And I have never once taken that for granted.

I am not just your photographer.

I am a qualified project manager. Before your wedding day, I will build a detailed timeline with you. Not to manage the day like a coordinator with a clipboard, but so the preparation is thorough enough that on the day itself, you never feel managed. Everything just flows.

I will fix the flowers on the groomsmen’s jackets. Tie a tie or two. Carry the dress. Fix the veil. Speak quietly to whoever needs guidance. Handle anything that needs handling so you never know there was anything to handle.

I use a technique called flow posing. I give you something natural to do and photograph you while you are doing it. No stiff poses, just you, moving naturally, looking exactly like yourselves.

And before any of that, I offer every couple a practice shoot. Not to rehearse photographs, but so that when I walk through your door on the morning of your wedding, a friend arrives. Not a stranger with a camera.

I photograph as little as 15 weddings per year. Not because I have to. Because I choose to. It means that every couple I work with gets my complete and undivided attention, from our very first conversation to the moment I hand over your gallery.

What I want for you.

I want you to treat me like the best friend who happens to be photographing your wedding. Someone you can say anything to. Someone who will give you honest advice, tell you the truth about your timeline, and make sure the day flows so effortlessly that you forget there was ever a plan at all.

When you look back at your photographs, I don’t just want you to see beautiful images.

I want you to feel the excitement of that day all over again.

That is what I am working towards from the moment we first speak.

I’m so lucky to be father to four amazing children. They and my ever patient wife are my whole world.

I love to travel and am always up for any adventure.

Away from weddings.

I am a father of four, which means I understand completely what it means when people talk about the moments that matter. I love swimming, whether that is a Kerry lake or the Atlantic in January. I own a camper and our family has driven it through Cork, Kerry and even France several times for some unforgettable experiences.

I love meeting kind and fun people. I love adventure. I love Cork. The city, the coastline, the people, the light in West Cork on a summer evening.

And I love weddings. Not just wedding photography. Weddings. The noise of them, the love in them, the chaos and the calm and capturing the moments that the couple with otherwise have missed.

I get to be there for all of it.

I will never take that for granted.
